About the Area
Bellerose is a neighborhood on the edge of Queens where you can find wonderful homes and residents. This area is sometimes labeled “Bellerose Manor” in order to distinguish it from “Bellerose Village” and “Bellerose Terrace” , both Nassau County towns neighboring to the south.
When driving or strolling through Bellerose, you’ll be looking in one of Queens’ most beautiful and charming neighborhoods. This leafy community is made up almost enitrely of single-family homes, with a few apartment buildings along the area’s main boulevards. In all, this region has a very suburban feel to it.
Residents of Bellerose take pride in their gorgeous neighborhood and it shows in their well-kept homes and yards. This region is one suburban pocket of Queens that a growing family is sure to love. Most residents can run simple errands on Jamaica Avenue (Jericho Turnpike), which has a few diners and other local establishments.
Bellerose’s quiet streets and pleasant neighborhood is accounted for by its distance from Manhattan. Commuters looking to take public transportation have a few options, though the trip to Midtown takes about an hour. Express buses into the city come rather infrequently (20-30 minute time windows during rush hour), and residents of Bellerose also have the option of taking local Queens buses to nearby stations for subway transfers. However, the Long Island Rail Road services the neighborhood with its own stop, that can take you to Atlantic Terminal, the third largest transportation hub in NYC.
