QHT Connect: Average Savings by Age Groups + Advice for the Younger Generation + Cool Websites you may not Know About + A Client’s Cat is looking for a New Home

Hey all👋, hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the start of the Holiday season! We just came back from our annual retreat in Woodstock, NY and it was a blast 💥 We started doing our annual QHT Retreats 4 years ago and every year we check out a new town that is no more than a 2 hour drive from Queens. This one was a great pick, Woodstock is a really nice town with a lot of cool things to do and see. We rented a house, set our goals for 2022, discussed our biggest learning lessons from the year, talked about ways to improve the consumer experience, did some retirement planning, and even got to check out a Grateful Dead cover band which was SUPER fun!!! Click Here to see more pics and clips from the trip 😎

Now that October is coming to an end, we wanted to send you over a list of our favorite reads and content of the month. Take a look when you have a chance and feel free to share with anyone you think can benefit from it. If you have any ideas for our 2022 QHT Annual retreat, or if you have any ideas for ways that we can grow and/or improve our business, please let us know. Advice from a past client is better than any book, article, or training because it comes directly from the people we serve. Would love to hear what you think we can do to help more people, and raise the level of service we provide to our clients.

Thanks as always for keeping in touch 😉

Average US Retirement Savings by Age

We recently read an article about the average retirement savings by age group and it was pretty interesting. During our retreat we went over these numbers and spoke candidly with each other about where each of us are in terms of retirement planning. It’s something that is so important to do but many times we don’t have these talks with outsiders. It’s amazing how much you can learn and help each other once you open up to having these talks. We had some really good Aha’s at the retreat and everyone came up with a game plan to make sure that we’re all able to retire comfortably. It’s actually a pretty involved process, but totally eye opening once you start putting pen to paper.

With that said, below is a link to the article we read. It talks about the average savings/IRA/401K balances by age groups. It’s good to see where you are in comparison. If you aren’t where you’d like to be, or if you haven’t done much retirement planning, feel free to reach out and we can share the tools and process we used during our retreat.

Advice for the Younger Generation

We came across a cool Instagram post earlier this month. It shows pictures of 10 senior citizens giving advice to the younger generation. Interesting to see that a lot of the advice is very similar. Sometimes we forget to be nice, slow down, or simply enjoy the moment. This advice should serve as a reminder that life is a gift, and as long as we’re here, we might as well enjoy it 🙂 In the words of the famous George Strait, “I’m not here for a long time, I’m here for a good time.”

Take a look at the post and hopefully it will help you be more mindful. George has been reading a book called “Peace is Every Step” and he’s been sharing a lot of his Aha’s with us. Mindfulness is the foundation of a happy life, so take moments to breathe, smile as much as possible, and find the beauty in every step you take 🙂

A List of Cool Websites you might not know about

We came across this tweet earlier this month. The user @sahilypatel shared a list of cool websites that you may not know about. Some pretty cool stuff here! We like whatdoestheinternetthink.net,agoodmovietowatch.com, and whatshouldireadnext.com 😀 Check it out and let us know which ones are your favorites.

A Client’s is Cat is looking for a New Home

One of our clients has a cat who he is trying to find a new home for. His name is Fitz (Fitzgerald). He is 3 years old, up to date on all shots, no medical issues, and is healthy. According to our client he is one of the most affectionate, gentle cat’s he’s ever had (and he had had cats growing up). He is a sweetheart and has never scratched, bit, or attacked anyone. If you know of anyone who may be interested in adopting Fitz, please let us know and we can put you in touch with our client. He’s located in Kew Gardens.

Well, that does it for this month. Hope you find some of this interesting or helpful in some way 🙂 We’re curating this content every month specifically for our QHT peeps. Thanks for staying connected with us and as always, if you ever need anything at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
