Blissville is a mainly commercial neighborhood in Long Island City. Blissville was named after Neziah Bliss who owned this area in the early 1800’s. Pictured is the Greenpoint Ave Bridge. Originally built in the 1850’s by Neziah Bliss as the 1st drawbridge. Reconstructed in 1987, the Greenpoint Ave Bridge separates Queens & Brooklyn and is the 6th bridge in this location to cross the Newtown Creek.
