About the Area
East Elmhurst is a neighborhood in the northwest section of Queens. Just above of Jackson Heights and Corona, this region is bordered by Flushing Bay & Laguardia Airport to the north and Woodside to the west. The housing stock in East Elmhurst is made up of a mix of single-family homes, 2-3 family homes, and sections of rowhouses and individual townhouses. The East Elmhurst Playground is one of the area’s greenspaces, where patrons can play baseball, basketball, and tennis. Like many other Queens neighborhoods, East Elmhurst does not have a train that runs through the neighborhood, however, almost all residents of have easy access to one of three local buses that will transport passengers to the 7 train at three stations along Roosevelt Avenue. These buses also provide access to the transit hub at 74th St/ Roosevelt Ave. This hub includes access to the 7, E, F, and R lines.
